Your hair dryer overheats, sometimes sparks, and does not blow as hard as before?

Before running to the store to buy another one, you might want to clean it up.

The principle is simple. Your hair dryer draws ambient air from the back and makes it hot to the front. Over time the back of the hair dryer becomes clogged with accumulation of dust. Cleaning is an easy operation, that only takes 5 minutes of your time.

You will need :

An old toothbrush or a soft brush, but I personally prefer tweezers.

How to proceed :

  • Unplug the hair dryer.
  • Remove the cap on back of the hair dryer. In most cases just turn the cap a quarter of a turn.
  • This is where you will discover all the dirt that has accumulated.
  • Some devices are equipped with a foam filter or a mesh. Clean it gently with the tool of your choice.
  • Rinse it under the tap.
  • Let it dry before putting it back in place.
  • Replace the cap … and that’s it!

You have just given a second life to your device.
