No question that you would like to sell quickly and at the best price. At this stage, it is necessary to put your house in order to entice a potential buyer. Remember…. A good first impression!
We have created a home checklist of repairs, cleaning, and upgrades that could help your property be sold easily and rapidly.
Exterior
1- The front door and windows should work perfectly. Repair and touch up paint on trim and frames. Replace broken screens, but also the caulk if you find any gaps or cracks.
2- Have your gutters, downspouts, shutters cleaned and repaired. Remove any cobwebs.
3- Repair cracks or stains on the driveway, walkway, and the garage floor.
4- Give a fresh look to the patio or deck. Powerwash to remove dust and mildrew. Apply a fresh stain coat and sealent.
5- Clean outdoor furniture, BBQ, swing sets, trim bushes, and keep the lawn mowed which will help create a good first impression.
Interior
1- Dust and vacuum the house from the baseboard to the ceiling thoroughly.
2- Wash the blinds/curtains and clean the windows inside and out.
3- Clean floors, carpets, and the grout lines of your tiles.
4- Cracks and holes in the wall should be repaired and then touched-up with paint.
5- Space is at a premium and overflowing closets & kitchen cabinets imply not enough room! Declutter your closets, by removing any off-season items and anything you don’t use on a regular basis.
6- Light up every room to enhance their appearance. Replace all burnt out bulbs and defective lighting fixtures.
7- Remove stains from sinks, toilets, shower door and bathtubs. Replace old caulking around bathtub and sinks.
8- Repair any leaky faucets.
9- Make sure everything works well in the house : heating system, air exchanger, air conditioning, and door bell chime.
Potential buyers within a few minutes of viewing a property have formed an opinion of whether or not they are interested.
